Estandon Légende 2016

The gastronomic experience of a fine rosé for cellar ageing.

The story
An exceptional rosé which is particularly suitable for fine cuisine, beautifully presented in a bottle which replicates the same curved lines as the bottle used by Jean Bagnis when he launched Estandon in 1947.
Estandon Légende Coteaux Varois en Provence is made from a blend of wines from old vines growing on south-facing clay-limestone slopes in the commune of Seillons-Sources-d’Argens in the heart of the Var region.
These vines, selected for their low yield, produce grapes with an exceptional aromatic potential which will be brought out during vinification in barrel.
The grapes are harvested when they are perfectly ripe. Some are fermented in French oak barrels and others in stainless-steel vats.
The wines are then aged for 6 months on the lees which are regularly stirred up.
The blend is a perfect balance of these different wines.

Tasting notes
Bright, clear appearance with peach-coloured tints. The wine opens with soft floral notes on the nose, accompanied by nuances of dried fruit and nuts, combined with vanilla. Full and silky on entry to the palate with notes of white fruit and soft spices and leading to a very elegant finish.
This rosé for fine cuisine is best enjoyed between 8-10 °C and between 2 and 5 years of age.
Food and wine pairings
This is a wine which is great with food and will pair perfectly with dishes such as country ham and melon, grilled sea bass, chicken tajine, or cheeses such as Comté or Parmesan.
